The Puzzles group is a dream come true, I got the vision many years back. I recall trying to discuss my vision with my wife who chided me on my inability to streamline my dreams. In her opinion I was trying to do everything at the same time. She said I should remain a lawyer or insurance broker but I refused and told her there were too many opportunities abound in the world; which some missioners must come out and drive. She said everything I wanted to do were interrelated and were like a puzzles to her.
That was how we came by the brand name, Puzzles. We started the Puzzles as a small outfit shop at Victoria Island then. As at that time, I was even still an employee. The whole concept is that I had a vision of a big puzzle which has now culminated into a massive puzzle.
I started looking at my strength, to discover my area of core competence. What I did was to set up a company that matched my core competence which finally emerged as the big puzzle that we have today. So we play heavily in ICT, international services, insurance, construction and engineering services. And for each of the subsidiaries, I have a reason and a dream for setting it up.
When I look at my country, there is major infrastructural decay. Today, over 60 million Nigerians lack accommodation. If you look at the statistics that go around in relation to this, you will see that one, there is a big market there, two, the way to attract this market is by assisting to create employment and you can’t do it yourself. What is needed is an entrepreneur who can create the platform and the environment for people to make it happen.
Our services are multi-dimensional. I have a package that we are selling to State Governors and this is an opportunity for them to get it. The package is, we are willing to build a minimum of 100 housing units in every local government depending on what the State Government wants. Encompassed in the package is also a school, hospital and a police post. We will source the money for the project but the government must give us an exit line that shows how long they will pay back.
That particular package we sale on PPP is targeted at the rural communities. The easiest way that a Governor can make an impact on his people is to develop those areas and one of the easiest ways to develop the areas is to go into partnership with organizations like ours.
